The wages of sin is .............................. Death
But the gif of God is eternal ..................Life
If you were to die today and stand before God, and he asked you, “why should I let you into my heaven”, what would you say?
Many would say, “because I have been a good person” or “my parents are Christians” or “because I live in America and we are a Christian nation, aren’t we”. Unfortunately, none of these reasons will get you into God’s heaven.
Only one answer will please God and that is that we have given our life to his son, Jesus. Now let us share with you how you can do that. God’s Word teaches …
Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."
Romans 6:23a "For the wages of sin is death ..."
Romans 623b "... but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 5:8 "But God commends his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
Romans 10:9-10 “If you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Romans 5:1 “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
We have all sinned whenever we choose to disobey the commands of God. We are all guilty of having committed sin. The penalty for sin is death. But God loved you and provided the gift of His Son, Jesus. Who, even though He is God, chose to set aside His right to be in the presence of His Father, to come to earth and live a life without sin so He could pay your penalty of sin, for you. He paid this price by laying down His life in death. We can receive this gift by confessing (which means to agree with) to God that we are sinners and in need of His gift. In turn we agree to accept Jesus Christ as being Lord of our life. By doing this you will be what the Bible refers to as saved. To be saved means you are saved from the penalty of eternal separation from God, and now possess eternal life. The only answer before God is to accept the gift of His Son.
